The Scandinavian service provider, Mobiletech, has been chosen by Voice of America as the technology supplier of the mobile solution to the famous international broadcaster.

Voice of America has an overall strategy to engage in a personal relationship with the audience, offering the user to interact and share, but also to become a citizen journalist being able to communicate back from any part of the world. Rebecca McMenamin, VOA/IBB New Media Director, says, “Mobile is important to Voice of America. Not only is it the fastest growing media on the planet right now, it is important because there are more users of mobile internet in some parts of the world today than of desktop internet. In addition VOA covers large parts of the world where the users are much more likely to use mobile internet than the regular www-site.”

“We are extremely proud that Voice of America has chosen the Mobiletech Mobile Web Framework as a platform for their mobile ambitions, hosting their different language sites on the Mobiletech ASP service platform”, says Mobiletech CEO, Christian Erichsen. Currently upgraded versions of the Spanish and Swahili sites are being launched by Mobiletech, and over the next few weeks a number of the remaining language sites will follow suit.
